Rajesh Aggarwal, Principal Secretary (IT), Government of Maharashtra talks about e-governance implementation in the State

In our stamp duty offices 30 per cent footfall is of people who are renting their property since 11 month thing happens more frequently than once in a while sale. Our stamp duty office earns just one percent of income from rentals whereby the same accounts to 30 per cent footfalls. We want these 30 per cent of people not to come to our offices. The IGR office launched e-registration for rentals. If the owner and the tenant have UID numbers one from his home, cybercafé, CSC can do the registration by simply doing the online biometric authentication, pay online and print the document.  This is the first service in the country where a server is authenticating an individual rather than a government officer.  - See more at: Click here
